Rules

There are different rules of kick boxing, depending on the modality, organization / association / federation and the type of event, be it amateur or professional. The rules common to the largest organizations are generally:

  • All leg attacks on the thighs, inside or outside, hitting with the tibia or instep are valid. Known as low kicks. There are also high, medium-high circular kicks, as well as other kicks such as: the front, the descending, the oblique descending, the spinning kicks, the front and hook kicks, however, several of these are very spectacular but little effective in a fight since they are complicated and allow the opponent to fit, block, dodge or deflect them, so they are usually seen in the last rounds if the putting out of combat or knock out KO It is no longer possible, in order to win by points.
  • In the hip it is not allowed to hit, nor in the genitals.
  • Each assault consists of three minutes and one minute of rest (with many variations, such as two and a half minutes with 45 seconds, etc.).
  • Elbow strokes and only some knee strokes are not accepted, except in the K1, * K-1 modality where knee bumps are allowed, such as the circular knee and the front knee, and even in the regulation, intentional grips are allowed of the blow, but within a time limit to be able to hit the adversary.
  • All fist bumps are allowed, but no open hand blow.
  • Projections or grips are not accepted.
